Quetta, the provincial capital of the Balochistan province, Pakistan, is known to be largest city of the region, located near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Previously known by the name Shalkot, the city is famous for its scenic beauty, Balochi clothes and most importantly for its fruits and dry fruits due to which it is known the fruit garden of the country. Plenty of tourists’ attractions are present in and around the city.
Ziarat, one of the most famous tourist spots, located few kilometers away from the city of Quetta, is the residency of Quaid-e-Azam. The place is also famous for its landscapes since the area around it is covered with exquisite trees and mountains.
Another famous place to visit is the Hanna Lake, situated in the Urak valley. The lake is surrounded by enthralling mountains whose reflection can be seen in the water providing a charismatic view. A picnic point is located along the lake, shaded by some beautiful pine trees, which offers a splendid view of the lake.
Talking about thrill, then Hazarganji Chilton National Park definitely tops the list as due to the rocky and mountainous area recommended mode of transportation is a bumpy jeep ride. The park also offers some breath-taking views of dry mountains of Quetta, showcasing the natural beauty of the area.
Apart from tourist destinations, Quetta is also known for its three best bazaars, where visitors can find anything starting from clothing to electronics. Bazaars are named as Suraj Gang Bazaar, Liaqat Bazaar and Kandahari Bazaar. The bazaars are famous for providing mostly localized handworks, promoting Balochi mirror work.
Up till now we have made two visits to the spectacular city of Quetta and all the places were definitely some of the best that we have visited specially the Hanna Lake. The city carries its own unique beauty and captures the interest of tourist on a different level. Hence is one of the most famous cities of Pakistan.
